This section is brand new. We will be adding more and more good causes in due course. As you know, this site is based on shopping online. So if your just buying something as a treat, why not buy something just that little bit cheaper and give the rest to a worthwhile cause. We often have a moan about our own problems, and times are hard financially at the moment. But please remember there are a lot more worse off than you, who desperately need help and support.
Below is a small selection of charities and good causes that rely on donations. They cover a variety of different sectors, but please, no matter what your favourite cause is, just take a minute to have a browse through. Charities are listed alphabetically.

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to cancer research. In 2007/08 we spent £333 million on cancer research projects, and a further £11m million on cancer information and advocacy. We fund the work of more than 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses, all working together to beat cancer.
Our research receives virtually no government funding and our supporters are crucial if we are to continue to make real progress against this disease. Regular donations from as little as £2 per month provide us with the stability of longer term funding which enables us to plan ahead.

Consider these statistics: • Each week at least one child dies from cruelty. • The people most likely to suffer a violent death are babies less than one year old • There are 32,000 children in the UK who are at risk of serious abuse and neglect RIGHT NOW. By donating to the NSPCC you can help prevent these things happening. Out of every £1 that is donated to us, 85p goes towards ending child abuse. We have already helped thousands of children, with your help we can help many more.

Build a city is a virtual online community where users can buy a property in exchange for a donation to Shelter. Properties start from £5, and if you’re feeling more adventurous, hotels, department stores and even skyscrapers, complete with helipads, are available. Buyers are able to personalise their property with a photo, message and website link. Businesses can even design their own bespoke properties. All purchases will go towards helping those in housing need. For example, a £10 terraced house in the city could pay for a ten minute call to Shelter’s free national helpline.
